Butterfly 3-5 Rooms
Working in partnership with Renfrewshire Council, Mid Gavin Nursery adheres to the Curriculum for Excellence whereby a wide range of subject areas are actively promoted and literacy and numeracy skills are encouraged at every opportunity.
Our Butterfly children have the freedom to explore both rooms throughout the day, where we provide an inspiring and enriching environment that nurtures confidence, independence and a love for learning. We create play spaces that are homely and inviting where children can engage in open ended play. The children can chose where they would like to play e.g. sand, water, science, role play, expressive arts, smartboard or literacy.
Our teacher assists staff with a wide range of curricular activities, teaching the children new skills and setting new challenges. As children prepare for school, we focus on developing early literacy, numeracy, problem solving and self-care skills. We work closely with families and local schools to ensure a smooth, confident transition for every child.
The children enjoy daily outdoor play in the garden, poly tunnel and mud kitchen.
The nursery has strong community links and the children enjoy visits to the local library, R.S.P.B. Centre, Zoolab and nursery visits from our community police and fire teams.
